[ES] Nostr vs Web3: Why open protocols are the future of social engineering
An open, anonymous, and censorship-resistant protocol capable of changing the rules of the game in how we interact with social platforms.
Engineer
GM! I'm Jonathan (or Jona, as we're friends). With over 8 years of experience, my profile has evolved from backend development and UI/UX design to becoming a Product & Frontend Engineer. I'm a curious person who enjoys exploring and constantly learning.
I specialize in the React ecosystem (NextJS, TypeScript), building scalable software solutions: From Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and complex point-of-sale (POS) systems, to the creation and maintenance of design systems using open-source software (OSS) libraries.
Self-custodial Lightning wallet focused on UX. Bridging the gap for non-technical users in Latin America.
Lightning payments tool and high-volume local store management for merchants.
Ticketing platform that empowers event organizers to create, sell, and manage tickets using Lightning Network and Nostr.
Develop and promote design, interaction, and accessibility standards that ensure Bitcoin systems are intuitive, inclusive, and sustainable for all.

I operate at the intersection of Product Design and System Engineering. I don't just hand off designs; I build the architecture that brings them to life.
Removing friction is the hardest part of engineering. I focus on subtracting until only the essential remains.
Building on Bitcoin and Nostr means building for resilience, censorship resistance, and global interoperability.
Software is useless if it fails in the field. I test in high-latency, offline-first environments.
Details matter. From the easing of an animation to the contrast ratio of a border.
2023 - 2026
I led the development of the PWA, achieving a 0.3s response time for physical payments through NFC integration and self-hosted infrastructure. I created and maintained the open-source component system (OSS) and optimized onboarding to under 30 seconds, abstracting the complexity of private keys for end users.
2023 - 2026
I designed the interface and collaborated on the technical decisions for 'HalvingMassacre' (a game with 280 users and 0.12 BTC in prizes) and designed the platform '1 SAT = 1 PESO'. I established the visual guidelines for the ecosystem and represented the organization as an international speaker at events like AdoptingBitcoin and LaBitcoinf.
2021 - 2023
I redesigned the sales package system, increasing revenue from $100 USD to +$7,000 USD. I conceptualized the UI Kit with a gaming aesthetic for DarkyClans and led the technical challenge of transforming a high-complexity desktop-focused application into a 100% responsive mobile experience.
2022
I reduced the CSS volume in legacy code by 10% through style normalization and a readability-based architecture (Position > Display > Box Model). I actively participated in the technical modernization of the platform by collaborating on the migration of components to Svelte.
2021 - 2022
I built scalable and high-performance interfaces for various international clients using React, NextJS and TypeScript. I implemented solutions under the offline-first approach to ensure the availability of digital products in high-latency environments.
